Queer Food Project invite you share your ideas and support you to make these proposals come to life!

Over the years QFP have aimed to:

  • connect queer people through food.

  • provide space to cook and eat together to make meals more affordable.

  • share skills in the kitchen to build confidence with cooking for 30+ people.

  • build community through the social benefits that accompany a communal meal, such as after dinner study groups, performance nights and providing food for DIY events in Manchester.

Here is an example of what QFP did last year:

COLLECTIVE NOURISHMENT

an in-person cook + eat project set up to:

+ intercept food waste to increase peoples access to fresh home cooked meals.

+ cooking quantity with nutritious quality.

+ meal sharing and buying collectively as an act of community resilience, creating a network through acts of queer mutual aid.

this project will be exploring how social eating & preparing meals as a community can influence our personal relationship with food and each other, to learn how we all can mutually benefit from sharing meals.

all meals will be on a pay what you can afford donation.

activities following the meal include Trans Mutual Aid MCR Reading group, and other study group topics around permaculture and community building.
